A reverse painted silhouette of a profile portrait bust of Washington, possibly from life, backed on period paper with a water colored wreath surrounding the portrait and eglomise mat with gold flake detail. In a contemporary frame backed with one solid piece of wood, 15 x 13”. Minor flaking of paint, else a fine example. A rare piece of early Americana. Provenance: Violet Virginia Jirousek (1902-1996).
