Gilles Beaugrand (canadian, 1906-2005) Sterling Art Deco Style Ecclesiastical Chalice Beaugrand Chalice Features A Gold-washed Cup Interior And Hexagonal Black Faceted Center, On Tapered Faceted Stem Leading To Hexagonal Spreading Base. Grape Vine Ribbon Motif Around Cup. The Base Has Monogram Of Christ In Greek Letters. Hallmarked And Dedication Inscribed On Bottom Of Base. Preowned Condition With A Few Stray Marks And Tarnish. Decorative gems have been removed from the base. A Graduate Of The Ecole Des Beaux-arts De Montréal In 1928, Gilles Beaugrand-champagne Continued His Studies In France For 3 Years Before Returning To Quebec. Beaugrand’s Pieces Are Exemplified By An Art Deco Esthetic. His Works Are Held Private, Public And Museum Collections Including The Vatican Museum, National Gallery Of Canada, National Museum Of Fine Arts Of Quebec, Notre-dame De Montréal, St. Joseph’s Oratory, And Ste-anne-de-beaupré And Exhibited In Two World Fairs.
