Description

Beautiful c1890 Seger KPM Porcelain gilded bronze and hand-painted porcelain plaques jewelry box.
H: 14" x W: 11" x L: 15"
The casket features a rectangular porcelain body, which is set on four scrolled ormolu feet. The body is decorated with ormolu guilloche-patterned bands and corner mounts, taking the form of putti figurines, cornucopias baskets, roses, cartouches, and scrolled acanthus foliat. At the centre of the body, there is an ormolu escutcheon (lock). The casket is topped by an ormolu handle, decorated with arched putti busts.
The porcelain bears marks, flanked by 'S.g.r.P', for the German Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM) with a W and a nuber 8806.

Condition
