Description

A trade sign for a fruit vendor, double sided and original mounting holes underneath, the lattice basket of this sign is carved from a single plank while the fruit is carved individually and applied. Original colour with light touch-up, the fruit is slightly oversized to compensate for the original viewing angle from street level below. Quebec City area, circa 1900. Illustrated: Celebrating Canada, page 130. H: 25"; W: 32"; D: 6". // Enseigne d’un vendeur de fruits, double face, trous de fixation d’origine en dessous.
