This lot consists of a small fine art print on paper, done in the richly modern style of Diego Rivera (Mexican,1886 -1957). Hand inscription at bottom reads, "57/60. Diego Rivera." Image depicts a seated male figure wearing a wide-brimmed hat, his face shielded from the sun. Executed in the Social Realist style for which Diego Rivera is so beloved. This elegant lithograph would highlight any collection, big or small. Overall measures approximately 6.75" x 6.75".

Diego Rivera (Mexican, 1886 -1957) was a leading artist in his time. Rivera's large frescoes helped establish the Mexican mural movement, and were a vibrant celebration of traditional Mexican culture. Between 1922 and 1953, Rivera painted murals in places from Mexico City to Chapingo, Cuernavaca, San Francisco, Detroit, and New York City. In 1931, a retrospective exhibition of his works was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Rivera shared a tumultuous marriage with the painter Frida Kahlo (Mexican, 1907-1954). Their union traversed illness, political intrigue, personal struggle, and a mutual artistic respect. Rivera passed away in 1957 at the age of 71.
