Ancient Phoenician Glass Face Bead Ca. 4th-3rd cent BC. Size 1 3/8 inches High. x 7/8 inches Wide. Large multicolor paste glass bead depicting a stylized male head with a long beard and large round eyes, suspension loop on the top, center of head. Scattered surface deposits and iridescence. Ancient loss to his nose otherwise perfect. A Rare and nice example.Provenance:Ex. collection of Norio Goto, Tokyo. Collected 1960-1990, by descent to family.
