Native American, southwest United States, probably Navajo, ca. mid-20th century CE. A lovely group of sterling silver watch bands and bracelets of a classic Navajo style. The smaller bracelet has two curved terminals which have stamped triangular motifs as well as inlaid turquoise stones in arrow-shaped slots and a pair of scallop-shaped flaps which flank an ovoid, cobalt-hued stone. The larger bracelet has curved terminals decorated with incised foliate motifs, grooved peripheries, a pair of projecting leaf-shaped elements, and triangular bars inlaid with several small turquoise stones. The watch band is made of stainless steel as well as sterling silver, has an expanding accordion-style body, and has two rectangular terminals adorned with gilded eagles. Size of largest (watch band): 5.875" L x 0.7" W (14.9 cm x 1.8 cm); quality of sterling silver: 94%; total weight: 122.9 grams.
