647. Mr. Brylcream puppet. In the 1960s, Bunin turned his attention to short films and TV commercials, of which he became a master, including his memorable one for Brylcream hair treatment. From this, one of the most famous golden age TV ads ever run, is the series that proclaimed "Brylcream/A Little Dab Will Do Ya!/The Gals Will All Pursue You!/The Love To Get Their Fingers In Your Hair!" This is the only Mr. Brylcream puppet to survive and features his "after" effect with well coifed hair. Constructed of Bunin's own rubberized foam compound for the flexible skin over a special wrapped wire armature. The head is hand-painted, dressed with gray wool suit, white shirt and tie. An impressively detailed puppet. Measures approx. 10 in. tall. Puppet exhibits only slight wear; otherwise, remarkable condition for its age.
