Space-Related Autographs, Fabulous Dealers' Lot, 16 Pieces!

A magnificent dealers' lot of space-related signed and inscribed photos, postal covers, and NASA and Soviet Cosmonaut memorabilia dating from the heyday of the Age of Space, circa 1965-1986. 16 pieces total, with half of the lot comprising glossy, color photos. Featuring multiple signatures by Alan L. Bean, Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr., and Richard F. Gordon, Jr., and individual signatures of, in alphabetical order: Charles Duke, James A. McDivitt, Edgar Mitchell, Pavel Popovich, Judith A. Resnick, Stuart Roosa, Vitaly Sevastyanov, Alan B. Shepard, and Edward H. White II. In very good to near fine condition.

The lot consists of:

1. Official semi-glossy color NASA photograph of American astronaut Judith A. Resnick (1949-1986), inscribed and signed by her as "Best wishes / to Samuel! / Judy Resnick" in the upper right corner. Minor paperclip impression verso, else near fine. 8" x 10".

Resnick was the second female and the first Jewish astronaut in space. She, along with six crewmembers including New Hampshire school teacher Christa McAuliffe, were killed aboard the space shuttle Challenger on January 28, 1986.

2. Semi-glossy color photograph of the moon signed and inscribed in metallic felt tip pen by American astronauts Alan L. Bean (1932-2018) as "To Paul - / Alan Bean / Apollo 12" in the lower left corner, and by Charles Duke (born 1935) as "To Paul Carr / Aim High / Charlie Duke / Apollo 16" in the upper right corner. Near fine. 8" x 10".

9. 29th Salon International de l'Aeronautique postal cover signed by three American astronauts and two Soviet Cosmonauts: Stuart Roosa (1933-1994) as "StuORoosa"; Pavel Popovich (1930-2009); Edgar Mitchell (1930-2016) as "Ed Mitchell"; Alan B. Shepard, Jr. (1923-1998) as "Al Shepard"; and Vitaly Sevastyanov (1935-2010), also inscribed by him "Soyus-9". With a colorful abstract cachet at extreme left. Bearing a 45 centime French stamp and two handstamps. 6.375" x 3.625".

10. A March 2, 1970 postal cover commemorating the Austrian state visit of Apollo 12 astronauts Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr. (1930-1999), Richard F. Gordon, Jr. (1929-2017), and Alan L. Bean (1932-2018), signed by them as "Charles Conrad Jr.", "Dick Gordon", and "Alan L. Bean" respectively. With a large cachet inscribed "Osterrichbesuch der Apollo-12-Astronauten" at left. Bearing a 2 schilling Austrian stamp and two handstamps, one from Vienna. Near fine.

11. Contemporary newspaper clipping showing an Associated Press photo captioned "Shakedown Test for Space Twins" signed by James A. McDivitt (born 1929) as "James A. McDivitt" and Edward White (1930-1967) as "Edward H. White II". Overall light toning, else near fine.

White was the first American astronaut to perform a spacewalk during the Gemini 4 mission. On January 27, 1967, White was killed along with crewmembers Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee during a cabin test in preparation for the upcoming Apollo 1 mission.

12. An "Apollo 12 / Manned Lunar Landing / U.S. Navy Recovery Force" postal cover signed by American astronaut Alan L. Bean (1932-2018) as "Alan L. Bean" at center. Bearing a cancelled 10 cent U.S. stamp and postmarked from the U.S.S. Hornet. Sealing residue verso, else near fine. 6.5" x 3.625".

13. A Greek postal cover, signed and inscribed by astronaut Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr. (1930-1999) as "To / Elton -- / It has been a pleasure to / work with you & it was obvious / you did a great job in Africa / best of luck in the / future 'Pete' / Charles Conrad Jr." at lower right. The cachet depicting a winged Icarus is labeled in Greek: "HELLENIC POSTS FIRST DAY MARKETING AUTHORIZATION". Bearing three partly hand-stamped Greek stamps, postmarked November 9, 1965.

14. An Apollo 12 Moon Landing commemorative postal cover featuring a Folio-print cachet entitled "Man on the Moon" signed by astronaut Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr. (1930-1999) as "Charles Conrad Jr." Bearing a canceled 10 cent U.S. stamp and postmarked from Cape Canaveral on November 19, 1969.

15. A Gemini 11 commemorative postal cover signed by American astronaut Richard F. Gordon, Jr. (1929-2017) as "Dick Gordon" at center. Bearing a cancelled 5 cent U.S. stamp and postmarked from Cape Canaveral on September 12, 1966.

16. Apollo 12 decal, depicting a three-masted wooden ship trailing sparks around the moon, encircled "APOLLO XII / Conrad / Gordon / Bean." Pristine and unused. 3.625" dia.
