PITT WILLIAM: (1708-1778) The Elder. British Prime Minister 1766-68. A good, attractive D.S., W Pitt, one page, folio, Whitehall, 24th August 1761. The partially printed document is addressed 'To all Admirals, Vice-Admirals, Captains, Commanders of His Majesty's Ships of War, or Privateers, Governors, Mayors, Sheriffs, Justices of the Peace, Constables, Customers, Comptrollers, Searchers, and all others…..' and authorises three individuals, including Monsieur Gautier and Celestin Grillon, as well as their household and two servants, with their goods and necessaries, to 'freely and quietly to go from hence to Dover or any other Port, and there to embark and pass over to Flushing without any Lett, Hindrance or Molestation whatsoever', providing that they embark within fourteen days.
