Museum quality. Rare Saint-Martin statue in hard-plaster hand-made in France, 19th century (the original technique is from Italy, of this hand-made hard-plaster is called "inton", Italian prononciation). It is the same technique as Michelangelo did some of his works during the 15th century. handmade and hand-finished during the 20th century. Saint-Martin is the "Patron Saint of Soldiers". Bishop and Confessor of the city of Tours, south of Paris. Also "Patron Saint of France, geese, innkeepers, infantrymen and vintners". Saint-Martin cut his cloak in two section and gave half of it to a homeless to help him, in the 4th century. He was recognized and honored everywhere the Christ was known.
