A very large ink stone in a lidded wooden box with an elaborate relief carving of a"Kirin" expelling air beneath the sun amidst multiple layers of cloud. A circular 'well' for ink rests on the lower portion of the stone. Two lines of vertical text mark it's reverse. The lid had 3 large characters carved in it's center, surrounded by several other lines of text and 'stamp marks'.
