12th-14th century AD. A bronze stamp formed as six radiating bifid flanges on a square panel with hole to each corner. See Egan, G. & Pritchard, F. Dress Accessories 1150-1450, London, 2002, p.42 for similar stamp detailing. 25 grams, 34mm (1 1/4"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the 1970s.
