Rabbi Avraham Yechiel Fisch [d. 13 Elul 1998], was counted among the hidden tzaddikim who gathered around the holy shoemaker, Rabbi Moshe Ya'akov Ribikov. The group included Rabbi Leon Patilon, Rabbi Yosef Woltuch and Rabbi Mendel of Bnei Brak. Over the course of many years, Rabbi Fisch studied secrets of the Torah every night with the shoemaker. The shoemaker would occasionally send people to Rabbi Avraham so that he would arrange salvation for them. When they would arrive at Rabbi Avraham's, he would escort them out. While doing so, he would murmur blessings according to their problems and distress. They would experience salvation and all their problems would be resolved. Before Rabbi Yisrael Abuchatzeira ztz"l passed away, he sent several people to Rabbi Avraham. He asked them to inform him that Heaven decreed that he reveal himself, to become a rebbe and bless people. From that day forward, many people approached him for his blessings. Rabbi Avraham's blessings were completely fulfilled, all miraculously, just like the miracles seen with the holy blessings of Rabbi Yisrael Abuchatzeira. He was known by his occupation, as "The Holy Floor Layer." Holocaust survivors recounted, "During the years of the terrible Holocaust, everyone who was near Rabbi Avraham Fisch survived." The Admor of Lelov recited "זורע צדקות מצמיח ישועות" regarding Rabbi Avraham Fisch. He elucidated: Rabbi Avraham would first sow righteousness ["זורע צדקות"] - by occupying himself with charity and lovingkindness, and with the power of this trait, he was privileged to produce salvations ["מצמיח ישועות"] with which he would grant blessings and everyone would perceive how his blessings were realized. The hidden tzaddik Rabbi Mendel of Bnei Brak attested: "Rabbi Avraham is the head of the 36 hidden tzaddikim." On the Tuesday preceding his passing, he called his attendant and said to him: "Know that on the eve of the holy Shabbat I will take leave of this world, make sure to arrange everything necessary." Indeed, on Friday 13 Elul, he ascended to Heaven, and he was buried on Safed.
