Carved wood panel, mythological,19thc, 16 x 24 inches.Possibly depicting the Old Testament story of Judith and Holofernes or Salome and the Head of John the Baptist.////////////////////////////////////////////////The panel shows two women walking, the first with a sword and the second with the head of a bearded man in a basket on her head.Circa 1875 to 1925.

Condition

The edges are rough, could have been the panel from a door.Wood is dry.There is a bevel around the edge.Numerous worm (or drill) holes upper left.
