Description
A LATE REGENCY BRASS MOUNTED CUBAN MAHOGANY CAMPAIGN WRITING BOX, GEORGE IV (1820-1830), the figured top with brass corner caps, opening to a green baize lined slanted writing surface, one side lifting to interior paper storage, opposed by compartments fitted for encrier and accouterment, above a door lifting to interior storage and two drawers, the exterior flanked by two brass handles, brass strap work mounted corners, and centering a geometric inlaid brass escutcheon; open, height: 32 , width: 18 1/2 , depth: 22 3/4 ; closed, height: 34 , width: 18 1/2, depth: 11 1/4 ; on stand height: 34". Note: Secondary wood oak.
