AN ANTIQUE LEATHER AND BRONZE GENTLEMAN'S TRAVEL SATCHEL, IRISH, 1850-1870, embossed leather, the flap with plaque inscribed, "For St. Vincent Whithed, Bart., Killingcarrick, Greystone," likely belonging to 2nd Baronet St. Vincent Keene Hawkins Whitshed (1801-1870).Height: 11 1/2" Width: 15" Depth: 1 1/2" Note: The personal collection of Colonel Frederick Gustavus Burnaby, member of the Royal Horse Guards, a cavalry regiment of the British Army.
Condition
Dry and stiff throughout, some cracking, no key, mild chips, tears near base, rusting of buckle, some losses, but overall in fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
