COUNT DE LAS CASES (1766-1842) TWO BOOKS, "Journal of the Private Life and Conversations of the Emperor Napoleon at St. Helena," Volume I, part one, and part two, printed by S. and Bentley, Dorset Street, London, Published by Henry Colburn and Co., 1823, including a folding steel plate engraving of the ground plan of Longwood, Napoleon's birthplace, 3/4 brown morocco leather bound with blue marbled boards and edges. Height: 8 1/2" Width: 1" Depth: 5 5/8"
Condition
Hinges have lacerations, separation, taped repairs, some fading of marbling, scratches, heavy wear to corners, acid exposure transferred from engraving to frontispiece and following pages, occasional foxing, a single pressed antique violet bloom within pages, some yellowing of pages, stains, fading of marbling, and general wear.
