A LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BEECH AND PINE SALON CHAIR, PROBABLY ITALIAN, CIRCA 1900, the arched crest rail with carved flower blossoms, over a ribbon twist carved back, centering an arched square upholstered panel, above trapezoidal seat with an inset conforming upholstered cushion, the upholstery now a gold and creme floral stripe, over a twisted ribbon carved skirt, joined by block and floret corners, raised on ring turned, tapered, fluted legs ending in French toes. Rubbing and loss of gilt throughout, various breaks with apparent repairs, the back with apparent adhesive residue in white and red colors, some greenish patina intermittently throughout gilt, later gilt applied, upholstery likely not original, restoration efforts apparent on interior of seat.
