Forrest, Hal (American, 1895—1959). Artie the Ace Original Daily Comic Art. Paramount Newspaper Syndicate, 1927. A group of five consecutive daily comic strips created with ink on Bristol board chronicling Artie’s pitstop in Southeastern China. Framed and matted to an overall size of 36 x 30.” Old adhesive staining and pinholes to margins; minor damp staining to edges; blue pencil shading overall. Not examined out of frame; very good condition. Scarce. Artie the Ace was one of the first aviation-themes comic strips and the precursor for Tailspin Tommy.
