ORIGINAL (rolled) "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" (1977) UK Quad 30"x40" movie poster (
Oscars version). Not only is this probably the best poster artwork for the film that started it all, it is also considered by many to be the best work by the great British artist Tom Chantrell. This poster perfectly captures the excitement and adventure of many peoples favorite sci-fi film. It is a design that was supposedly liked so much by
Lucasfilm that the decision was made to use it for the famous Style C one sheet. This particular style of the poster is known as the
Oscars version, so called because it was printed once the film had won a handful of Academy Awards a few months after the original UK release.
Previously framed and shows multiple pinholes and wear from being previously hung, still a rare original poster, infrequently offered for sale. In good condition this poster sells for
$1500-$2500.
