Hugo Wilhelm Kauffmann (Germany, 1844 - 1915)
actually Hugo Wilhelm Kauffmann, dt genre painter (1844 Hamburg am Chiemsee until 1915 Prien), son of Hermann Kauffmann the Elder and father of Hermann Kauffmann the Younger, a pupil of Martin Gensler and Gunther Gensler in Hamburg, 1861-63 students. Stadelschule Jakob Becker, Edward Jakob von Steinle and Johann Nepomuk Zwerger, 1863-71 worked in the artists' colony in Kronberg im Taunus, interrupted by short periods in Hamburg, in 1867 five months of study at the Academy in Dusseldorf and 1869-70 and a half years of study in Paris, from 1871 in Munich and 1872 in parallel acting in Prien, charged inter alia 1879 to 1911 the Munich glass Palace exhibitions and the Academy exhibitions and Great Art Exhibitions in Berlin, joined the Munich artist cooperative, active in Munich and Prien, source: Thieme-Becker, Boetticher, Muller- Singer, Rump, Dressler, Bruckmann "Munich artists of 19-20. century." and "The Dusseldorf School", Saur, Glaspalast catalogs and Wikipedia.
