Israeli Army/IDF tank proficiency badge, circa. 1970's-80's; size: 35.5 x 18.5mm; weight: 2.45g. Recruits to the armored corps receive 8-week basic training to become level 04 riflemen, afterwhich they are assigned one of three possible vocations - gunner, driver, loader-communications - and undergo a 6-week course. After this they receive their berets and undergo advanced training which lasts 10 week, at the end of which they are qualified for level 05 riflemen and receive this "Sikat Lochem Shiryon" (Armored Combatant's pin), nicknamed "Tzfargol". From this stage some soldiers may continue to tank commanders' course.
