Description
Approximately 40 yards total on two rolls. 1970 Hills of Home Series Hills and water on creamy handwoven ground. Hand screen printed on 100% tussah silk, hand woven in India. Approximate repeats 37 inches x approximate 48-inch width. Signed and dated on side on fabric. One roll having 12 repeats in uncut condition approximately 13.34 yards. Second roll has 21 repeats, approximately 26.6 yards. Jack Lenor Larsen was born 1927 in Seatle, Washington. He studied architecture and weaving at the University of Washington. In 1949 he moved to Los Angeles and focused on fabric weaving and design. In 1952 Larsen moved to New York and the following year founded Jack Lenor Larson, Inc. opening a studio on Park Avenue in New York City attracting customers like Marilyn Monroe and Frank Lloyd Wright. Several furniture manufacturers as Knoll, Milo Baughman, Dunbar/Edward Wormley, etc. He has received multiple awards and his collections are represented in museums around the US and Europe.
