AMERICAN NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, silk on linen, five alphabet and numeral rows above "Mary E. Brown aged 7 183[...]", surrounded by vine border. Housed under glass in an old frame with label to back for Staton's Galleries of Philadelphia, PA. Circa 1830. 7 7/8" x 6 3/8" sight, 8 5/8" x 7 1/8" OA.
Moderate fading, overall toning, and some discoloration, frame with minor wear and surface scratches. Not examined out of frame.
