Description
A Victorian sterling silver alms dish/basin or communion plate, London 1851 by John Keith
Of circular form with recessed domed centre and plain rim. The centre with a repousse fleur-de-lis and twin rossettes against a textured ground. The edge with engraved legend ‘Tua sunt omnia domine et de tuis dedimus tibi’ (For all of your Lord will give you). Fully marked to the reverse.
Diameter – 24.2 cm / 9.5 inches
Weight – 336 grams / 10.8 ozt


The phrase is a cogitation of 1 Chronicles 29:14 ‘tua sunt omnia et quae de manu tuaaccepimus dedimus tibi’ (All things are thine; and we have given thee what we received of thy hand.)
