Description
Vintage Scalamandre Silk Lampas. 1) Six yards of 27 inch narrow width silk lampas, woven in the L.I.C., NY Scalamandre mill, circa 1968, designed by Adriana S. Bitter. Inspired by the Louis XVI style, this collectible textile is for draperies, bedcovers, and pillows. Was sold through the Scalamandre Trim Dept. as a cut and sewn 5.625 inch wide jacquard galon, usually sewn to the inside leading edge of window treatments. 2) Two six-yard lengths of the same Neoclassical floral galon, totaling twelve yards, wound on a wooden trim spool. The pinks, greens, yellow and beige silk lampas galon has repeats of 7.75 inch vertical by 5.625 inch horizontal. There are thirty-six yards between the two lots, all from the same production.
