Description
Stoneware vase with crystalline mottled red, russet flambe glaze.
Additional dark colored depths. Attributed to artist Edward R. Wilkes, one of the pioneers of the re-creation of deep flambe glazes along with Bernard Moore, with whom he worked. Incised number 1533 to base. Decorative hallmarked silver overlay, with mark possibly attributed to Birmingham.
