Description
A Japanese Noh theater mask. "Hannya." After the jealous she-demon Hannya. Red, black, and metallic laquer on carved wood. Horns and sharp teeth bared. Wood smoothed and darkened on surface from age. Left horn broken and repaired. Two partial stickers attached to back. Rewired on back for wall hanging. Small holes drilled ears for absent head strap. Hole in back most likely used for hanging, not through front. 10 3/4" x 7 7/8" x 3 3/4".
