Description
Empress 1.50ct Antique Colombian Emerald Cabochon, 0.20ctw SI1-SI2/G-H Diamond & Solid 18K White Gold 20" Necklace From the Estate of Queen Mother Tu Cung Hoang Thai Hau - This stunning necklace was finely crafted of solid 18K white gold, and is comprised of a 0.75" pendant which hangs on a 20" chain. The pendant boasts a beautiful 1.50ct (approximate) genuine antique Colombian Emerald cabochon, and is then finished with approx. 0.20ctw genuine SI1-SI2/G-H brilliant round cut diamonds lining the edge of the piece. The necklace belonged to Queen Mother Tu Cung Hoang Thai Hau, and it is said that green was one of her favorite colors for gemstones as green is the color of prosperity and the thought of giving. Empress Dowager Doan Huy was the last queen of the Nguyen dynasty, and the mother of Emperor Bao Dai. The Empress Dowager was known for devoting herself to preserving the former capital of Hue after the fall of Nguyen Dynasty, and for sponsoring the restoration of Thai Temple and other war torn mausoleums of Nguyen royals. This is a true modern day treasure, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Vietnamese history. This piece comes from the estate of a Vietnamese Royal Family (the family now lives in the United States, and wishes to remain private as they still have relatives living in Vietnam). This pendant is from the original collection of the queen, but we are certain the chain is newer, and must have been added by the family at a later time. (WEIGHT: 4.6 grams)
