Pierre Sterle was known as the "couturier of jewellery", and sold his pieces to jewelry houses such as Boucheron, Chaumet and Ostertag. Sterle reached his apogee in the 1940s and 50s, and his work, which was often inspired by nature, still commands strong interest and achieves realized prices well into the thousands of dollars at auction. This ring was finely crafted of solid 18k yellow gold and platinum and is embellished with approximately 1.50ctw genuine VS1-VS2/F-G pave set diamonds. The ring has a beautiful and ornate design with a solid platinum dome mounted on a yellow gold band which has a foliate motif of branches creating the band and vines wrapping around the pave diamond dome. The ring measures 19.5mm wide across the top of the piece, and the dome raises off of the finger approximately 0.75". The inside of the band is signed "Modele Sterle Paris" and "Montreaux". This ring was part of a limited collection created by Sterle for Montreaux Jewelry of New York. Ring size: 5. (WEIGHT: 21.7 grams) Please note: this piece will come with a $15,000 insurance valuation report in the winning bidder's name by a graduate appraiser
