A Russian porcelain oyster dish from the Alexander III Coronation Service, Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, period of Nicholas II (1894-1917), dated 1913. Molded as scalloped shell, Of scalloped form, the upper side of the handle dish decorated with the Imperial State Seal, a thrice crowned double-headed Imperial eagle, the shield of St. George encircled by the Chain of St. Andrew on its chest, the wings emblazoned with the arms of the major kingdoms and principates making up the empire, including (clockwise) Astrakhan, Siberia, Georgia, Finland, Kiev-Vladimir-Novgorod, Taurica, Poland, and Kazan, with scepter and orb clutched in its talons. The underside with the green cypher mark of Nicholas II dated 1913. 4 3/4in. x 4 1/8 (12.1 x 10.5 cm) /N II 1913
