Description
Unusual Porcelain vase with a repeating pattern of butterflies in black under a yellow tinted high glaze done at Rookwood by Harriet Wilcox in 1928. There are four large and 4 small butterflies on the hand thrown form with marks including the company logo, the date, shape number 605 and Wilcox’ initials in black slip. Height 5 5/8 inches. Very clean and uncrazed. An unusual technique seen only in this period and only by Wilcox.
