Description
George III sterling silver coffee pot with hallmarks from Newcastle, crowned Leopard, Georgian mark, date X (circa 1788), and lion. Crest on side reads Tentanda Via Est "The Way Must Be Tried". Small piece of wood missing from top of handle, small indentations. Measures 12.75" tall, weighs 24.3 OZT. It was a wedding present hence the split shield for Sir James Matthew Strong of Tynan Abbey.
