Description

Chad Valley England Late 1940s Post WW2 Lithographed Tin Globe. 7 inch transfer painted steel globe with a simplified map surface with oceans finished in pale blue. made by Chad Valley Toy Company. Pressed tin half meridian on hollow brown triangular plinth with note on the use of the clock or time dial. Shows post WW2 Europe, French Indo China and French West Africa. Globe was produced shortly after WW2 as it shows pre-war Germany (Not divided into East/West Germany) and as well as Finland pre-war border with the USSR. Likely produced between 1947-49 as Sate of Israel is shown. Colours are vibrant on globe. Two minor dents on globe. Missing time dial at North Pole. Marked: â€œChad Valley? â€œMade in England? â€œBy appointment toy makers to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen?
