4th century AD. A silver-gilt finger ring with D-section hoop, square shoulders with 'IC XC' inscription, raised square bezel with expanding-arm cross detailing. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 451 for type. 13.8 grams, 27mm overall, 20.75mm internal diameter (approximate size British W, USA 11, Europe 25.0, Japan 24) (1"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
