Description
Last quarter of the 18th century, Lancaster, PA. The clock is No 16. having a broken arch pediment with three turned finials continuing down to a glazed door at the bonnet which houses a handsomely painted face. The face has not be repainted and is original. The case having excellent form with a narrow midbody housing one long door flanked by quarter columns at each side and continuing down to lower case, all resting atop four handsomely turned feet which are original and in good condition. H 97 1/2" W 21 1/2" D 11 3/8" Sold from the collection of a Washington DC area family, the piece has descended in the family for at least a century.
