10th-12th century AD. A sheet silver lamp with stepped disc base and billeted band, slipper-shaped body with D-shaped raised panel to the nozzle, stepped discus with central filler hole, curved handle to the rear with cast lion-head finial. 142 grams, 13.5cm (5 1/4"). From the collection of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
