1st-2nd century AD. A bronze die for the production of repoussé panels and mounts; columnar body with flared striking surface, discoid former with domed centre, high-relief bust of Pan(?) with horns and ivy-leaves to the hair. 397 grams, 81mm (3 1/4"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
