Waite C. Hoyt (1899-1984) Hoyt was the mainstay of six Yankees pennant winners in the 1920s. "Schoolboy" pitched three games in the 1921 World Series against the Giants and allowed only two runs, both unearned, over 27 innings, earning two of his six career World Series victories.
