Description
A Continental Bronze Planter
18th/19th century
the circular bowl having an openwork Greek wave band, raised on tapering monoped supports terminating in paw feet over a conforming tripartite base.
Height 40 1/4 inches.
Estimate $300-500
Note: planter is bronze. Not ferrous, a magnet doesn't stick to it. That, combined with the weight, makes us believe it is bronze.
In good, stable usable condition. Surface appears to have been painted. Wear to painted finish consistent with use. Hinged side to top of bowl opens and closes smoothly.
No damage or repair noted.
Additional images available upon request.
