Description
1880 Great Pyramid Secrets Egypt MYSTERY Astrology Occult Meteorology Piazzi Smyth
Charles Piazzi Smyth was a 19th-century English astronomer who made many bizarre and unfounded theories regarding meteorology and the Great Pyramids of Giza. According to ‘The Literary World’, Smyth
“has adopted the theory that the architect of the Great Pyramid was inspired, in the most extravagant theological sense of that term, and embodied a Divine revelation, by means of the adoption of mathematical principles in his work, and further that the Anglo-Saxon race is of Hebrew origin. Among other things, he imagines that he has discovered in the Pyramid the divinely ordered and primeval system of meteorology, and that ‘the French metrical system came out of the bottomless pit and is a sign of the Anti-Christ, the mark of the Beast’.”
This rare and unusual work is filled with 25 plates depicting findings within the Egyptian relics, views of and within the pyramids themselves, hieroglyphics, as well as illustrations of Smyth’s own theories regarding construction and mystery.
