Pompéi, d’Herculanum et de Stabie avec quelques plans et vues, d’apès les dessins originaux
A set of 74 chromolithographs, 103 black and white prints, and several architectural plans, published by Georg Reimer, Berlin, 1841-1859, contained in original clamshell portfolio with stamped gilt title on the spine.
Portfolio 32in. H x 26in. W x 4in. L
Condition: spotting and surface dirt throughout, some with tears and creases to some sheet edges; portfolio with rubs, stains, remains of tape, corners bumped.
Zahn recorded ornamental patterns at Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as the interiors of the 16th century, Palazzo del Te in Mantua, designed by Giuliano Romano.
