Description
A rare Egyptian glass amulet of a fish, Late New Kingdom, c. 1200 - 1075 BC, a Nile Perch, of opaque white glass with angled vertical deep orange banding. Of naturalistic form and hollow interior, the mouth from where the core was removed. 1 5/8 in x 1 1/4 in (4.2 x 3.2 cm). Well preserved and quite scarce. Ex Hamdy Sakr collection; previously in the private collection of Alex Anckonie III, acquired during his time in the Navy in the 1960's - 1970's.
