7th-6th century BC. A silver head of a goddess, possibly Astarte, with Egyptian style hair falling to the sides; small facial features, right eye inlaid with stone eye recessed for pupil. 5.19 grams, 28mm (1"). From an important London collection; acquired on the UK art market 1971-1974.
