Book Details: This very rare antique catalog is bound in printed gray paper wrappers with red and black lettering. The catalogue is illustrated with plates, a number of which have fold-out edges, and a small number of color plates. From the foreword: “The present Catalogue describes what is in all probability the finest collection of classified Bindings, Armorial and Historical, ever offered for sale. No less than 133 are from the Libraries of eminent men and women, including Kings and Queens and other eminent personages. The important feature of this Catalogue is the number of splendidly bound volumes by the World’s greatest Binders, and, moreover, all the books in this Collection are remarkable for their unusually fine state of preservation.â€
Condition / Notes: This antique title displays some typical indications of age and wear, including shelfwear. The wrappers show tears at the head of the spine and marginal chipping. The text block is sound, however the wrapper is detached. Text and illustrations are clear and legible through mild age toning and scattered foxing.
