Book Details: This antique volume is handsomely bound in vellum-covered boards with red ornamentation to the boards and spine, as well as gilt lettering and ornament to the spine. A facsimile reprint of the original "The Compleat Angler," this edition features the title page, dedication, woodcuts and two pages of music reprinted from the first edition. Although originally published in 1653, Walton continued to contribute to the Angler, creating unique editions for over twenty years.
Condition / Notes: This antique volume shows well with some mild indications of age and wear, including shelfwear and rubbing. The interior shows moderate age toning to the endpapers and mild age toning/foxing throughout. Page 217 is sheet of music, which has been printed and bound upside down. This volume is ex-library, and bears attachments to the pastedown endpapers and a property mark on the title page.
