George III carved catinwood terrestrial globe with calibrated brass horizons and papers, stands with ebony stringing on reeded tapered legs headed with rosewood veneered panels and joined by stretchers below
c. 1829
45" x 24" x 24" (18" globe diameter)
The inscription on the globe reads: "Containing all the lates discoveries and Communications from the most correct and authentic observations and surveys to the year 1829, by Capt. Cook and more recent navigators. Engraved from an accurate drawing by M. Arrowsmith, geographer."
