French Renaissance Composite work of Louis X
At inked bottom border, St. Louis. Roi de France, On gold embroidered silk ground, layers of various appliques, consisting of woven and metal thread silks, cut velvet, linen and lace, some ink drawing and engraved sections. An original work well framed, in particularly fine condition. Info reverse; in old script, Louis IX 1297, a research card has added; French Renaissance work of circa 1625, materials all of the period, probably Louis IX or X, etc., etc. Ex; Dr. Albert Figdor, Berlin sale 1930, Paul Cassirer. No restoration, not large but rare and dynamic, 11 7/8" x 9 3/4"
