Tintype of African American Woman (circa 1880s).

A hand colored image of a seated African-American woman, dressed in a black spotted dress, with a lilac bow at her neck and white lace at her throat and sleeve cuffs. She is also wearing gold jewelry. The tintype has been housed in an oval framed mat, measuring 8" x 10" overall.
Condition: A few cracks in the background around the woman and at the bottom of her skirt. The mat is worn, soiled, and chipped in places. The tintype had been attached to the mat, but has since become detached.
